The FLHS cross country team offers students a rewarding and challenging experience that builds endurance, mental toughness, and personal growth. Through interval training, and long-distance workouts, athletes strengthen their stamina, pacing, and race strategy while pushing themselves to reach new personal bests. Cross country teaches perseverance and focus, encouraging runners to maintain form and determination through hills, trails, and varied terrain, even when the course gets tough. Each runner contributes to the team’s overall score, learning the value of consistent effort, accountability, and supporting teammates on every loop.
