The Health Science Program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in safety, emergency response, human anatomy, and advanced medical skills. Students begin by learning injury prevention, CPR, AED use, and first-aid essentials, then progress into Health Science I & II, where they study anatomy and physiology and gain a deeper understanding of life-sustaining body systems. Taken alongside these courses, the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) class trains students to assess emergencies, perform CPR, check vital signs, manage trauma, and earn multiple certifications, including American Heart Association CPR/AED and FEMA credentials. Students who continue into Electrocardiography (ECG) receive rigorous, career-aligned training that prepares them for roles as EKG Technicians and Cardiovascular Technologists. The program also offers Intro to Firefighting I and II, where students learn fire service fundamentals, alarms and communication systems, and equipment operations, completing training comparable to that of a volunteer firefighter. Collectively, this pathway equips students with practical skills, industry certifications, and strong preparation for future careers in health science, emergency services, and public safety.
